The UK government have received a formal recommendation by The Royal Society, a national science debate organization, suggesting that more resources are needed to develop pioneering sustainable farming techniques. A study that might see people paying more attention to the quality of the air breathed in has been released via the ‘The New England Journal of Medicine’.

The research proved that extended exposure to ground level ozone gases significantly raises the likelihood of death from breathing complications. In fact, the risk is more than 30% larger in the cities with the highest ozone concentrations in comparison to those locations with the lowest concentrations of ozone gases.

It followed 450,000 subjects across nearly 100 metropolitan regions over an 18-year period. During this time, Riverside California had the highest concentrations, while the lowest were recorded in San Francisco.

More often than not, cities towards the north-east of the country had lesser concentrations than western states such as California – Los Angeles was shown to have a 43% greater risk, while Washington DC came in at 27% and New York at 25%.

What the experts {recommend you to do~A good way} to lower the risk is to exercise or do physically demanding work in the early morning hours, or later on in the day in order to avoid the hottest, sunniest hours, particularly if you live in one of the warmer climates.
