Please try to breathe any of the air that big green is cleaning, or use any of the water it is purifying, Also please don't wear any sunblock, so you can get a good feel of what those o-zone holes feel like. I don't understand how you can be against the funding of companies that are trying to ensure that the planet including America doesn't continue to destroy the earth's natural resources. The future doesn't only come in 4 year election increments as you seem to think it does. I understand the point you're trying to make. The hypocrisy of politicians (democrats in your instance) supporting causes that they have a financial stake in, and in your opinion Democrats persecuting Republicans for backing "Big Oil" which they have a financial stake in. I get what you're trying to say....but please find a better example than green policies that are going to protect the earth that both republican, democrats both their children, and the rest of the people in this world live on.

Create a video blog...instantly.

Because there is no "Big Green" industry. There are no huge, consolidated, monolithic mega-corporations that have entire parties of government bought and paid for.

Because "green," if successful in it's goals, actually benefits the average person. Big oil uses up non-renewable resources while polluting the Earth. One has to make a choice between money and people with Big Oil. With "green" it's not a zero-sum game, but rather is "win-win." There's no conflict of interest with one as there is with the other.

Also, when Pelosi made that investment, it wasn't about "Green" - the Pickens company she invested in is natural gas focused. That's not part of your imaginary "Big Green."

Finally, you're quoting the Lyndon Larouche site? You need to find something less crackpot for credibility.

You also failed to mention that 6 out of the top 10 money makers from the Iraq war effort were Dem's... led by Mr. Anti-war John Kerry. I couldn't agree any more with dlk. Time to give them ALL the boot! (Now that would be change!)

"Big Green" as an industry is little more than right-wing obfuscation. There is no equivalency with "Big Oil."

"Big Oil" represents businessmen who are guilty of spurring our government to war over spurious cause in order to advance their agenda of profiteering. The day that the US goes to war over enviro-friendly technology, you can start using terms like "Big Green" without being ridiculed.

Regarding Pelosi's individual maneuvering to secure her own chunk of the green pie, all I can say is that all politicians do it. With that said, if you want to hate Nancy Pelosi anyway, I'm cool with that; I do.

EDIT:

I never suggested that the mission to steal Iraq's oil was SUCCESSFUL. I just said that that's why we went there.

For the first two years of the occupation, Iraqi insurgents were destroying pipelines as soon as Halliburton was able to lay them. Did you not realize that Halliburton executives were being flown over Iraqi oil fields as American troops first invaded Basra?

Bush declared "Mission Accomplished" and people started calculating their profits....and then the harsh reality of a prolonged urban insurgency set in...and then the value of the dollar dropped like an anvil on Wile E. Coyote...and then the realization set in, for me, that my grand-children were going to have to pay for this BS...and THEN it occurred to me that Halliburton's stock is still going up...and then my thoughts disolved in rage...

Rid yourself of environmental guilt and buy carbon credits from Al Gore. I totally agree.
